Job Description Core Design Producibility Group Lead - Submarines Full Time Derby An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Core Design Producibility Group Lead to join Rolls-Royce Submarines. What you will be doing: You will be responsible for the creation and improvement of component/assembly designs, ensuring that they meet their requirements and product attributes of life, cost, availability, and safety margins. Additionally, you will: Work closely with manufacturing, quality and analytical teams to ensure the product is manufacturable and meets all requirements. Identify potential improvements to product design to increase drumbeat and or unit costs. Be responsible for co-ordination of non-conformance assessments, integrating across design and analysis areas. Support the IPPR process for the NPI programmes. Providing supervision, coaching and mentoring to less experienced engineers. Setting positive example for the continual improvement of the workplace and our culture. Organising and leading a highly motivated team to deliver a high paced challenging scope of work. Document and verify information against sound mechanical engineering practices and references. Publish safety and technical reports which are subjected to customer and regulatory scrutiny. Why Rolls-Royce? You will have experience in Mechanical engineering design, but this does not need to be limited to Submarines. It is preferable that you are Degree Qualified or Apprentice Trained in a relevant engineering discipline, however this is not essential as experience is equally beneficial.
