About the Role
Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist Specialist Practitioner.
Part‑time, 22.5 hours per week with a flexible hybrid model enabling work from home and in the office.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide community clinical services, seeing patients in their own homes, in clinics, and in community hospital inpatient settings.
* Collaborate with team members to manage the local caseload.
* Refer and attend videofluoroscopy clinics as appropriate.
* Develop skills and knowledge of working with patients who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
* Attend regular local speech and language therapy meetings with a strong focus on continuing professional development (CPD).
* Supervise Band 5 therapists, work with speech‑language therapy assistants, and collaborate with other community SLT teams.
Professional Expectations
Must hold an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DSB) check. The Trust covers the cost of the check; however, if you are a DBS update subscriber you may present a valid DBS certificate instead of undergoing a new check.
Eligibility
Applicants who require current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible for this position.
