Litigation Paralegal – Legal & Business Affairs
A leading music business is looking for a Litigation Paralegal to join their Legal & Business Affairs team on a Fixed Term Contract basis, based in London.
Working within a close-knit legal team that supports a truly global operation, you will play a central role in protecting an iconic catalogue of songs from copyright infringement, working closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel to enforce rights and obtain compensation on behalf of the company’s artist's worldwide.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Researching and documenting potentially infringing uses across social media platforms and other digital sites, applying sound judgement and close attention to evidentiary standards
* Confirming relevant rights and gathering copyright information and contracts from worldwide databases
* Coordinating and working closely with external legal counsel and vendors, including in the context of discovery and other filings for litigations
* Drafting and managing legal documents, including copyright takedown notices, cease-and-desist letters and related correspondence
* Participating in calls and meetings related to enforcement, dispute resolution and litigation matters, preparing notes and follow-up actions
* Providing broader support to the attorneys in the Legal & Business Affairs team across a range of matters as required
To be considered, you should have a Bachelor’s Degree with prior paralegal experience being a plus – ideally within a copyright, media or music-related legal environment. You will be highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, with the ability to work autonomously while knowing when to escalate. Strong judgement, excellent communication skills and a high degree of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential legal and commercial information are all essential. A familiarity with the music industry or rights management would be a distinct advantage.
