I am currently recruiting for a Demand Planner for a food based business in Kent. In the role you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving demand forecasts to support supply planning, inventory management, and business decision-making. This role collaborates cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure accurate forecasts aligned with business objectives.
1. Develop and maintain statistical and collaborative demand forecasts at SKU, product family, or customer level
2. Analyse historical sales data, market trends, promotions, and seasonality to improve forecast accuracy
3. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to incorporate commercial inputs (promotions, launches, events)
4. Monitor forecast performance using KPIs such as Forecast Accuracy (FA) and Bias
5. Lead or support S&OP review meetings
6. Identify risks and opportunities impacting demand and communicate insights to stakeholders
7. Maintain demand planning systems
8. Support inventory optimisation and service level targets
9. Prepare reports and ad hoc analyses for management
Experience required for the role
10. 2-5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analytics
11. Strong analytical and quantitative skills
12. Advanced Excel skills; experience with forecasting tools or ERP systems
13. Understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles
