We are seeking a proactive, experienced and forward-thinking Senior Housing Strategy and Policy Officer to lead on the development and delivery of innovative housing strategies that respond to current and future housing needs.
This is a key strategic role, working closely with internal teams, elected members and external partners to deliver sustainable housing solutions that support economic growth, tackle homelessness and improve housing standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement housing strategies aligned with corporate objectives and national policy.
· Lead on research, data analysis, and forecasting to inform housing needs assessments.
· Manage strategic housing projects, including affordable housing delivery and regeneration initiatives.
· Provide expert advice on housing policy, legislation, and funding opportunities.
· Oversee research, consultation, and engagement with communities and partner organisations.
· Build strong partnerships with developers, housing associations, and community stakeholders.
About You
You will be a strategic thinker with excellent analytical and communication skills, able to manage complex projects and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
· Proven experience in housing strategy and policy development.
· Strong understanding of housing legislation, policy, housing markets, affordable housing delivery, planning frameworks, and funding mechanisms.
· Excellent analytical, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
· Ability to influence and negotiate at senior levels.
· Degree or equivalent qualification in housing, planning, or related discipline.

This role operates on a hybrid basis with a combination of home working, office attendance within the Civic Centre, Motherwell and site visits/meetings as required across other locations.

Monday - Thursday: 08:45am - 16:45pm
Friday: 08:45am - 16:15pm
