Offer description

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The Trust continues to upgrade facilities, with recent developments including a new integrated Critical Care Unit (2018), a Neonatal Unit extension and a plan for a state-of-the-art Emergency Department initiated in 2021.

We provide high quality, friendly and effective community health services from multiple sites covering Walsall. Our multidisciplinary services include rapid response and home-based care to enable people with long-term conditions and the frail elderly to remain at home.

We are recommended by colleagues as a place to work and are supported by our values of teamwork, respect, compassion and professionalism. We are committed to investing in our workforce. Following a recent CQC inspection, the Trust was rated Outstanding for care. The work we do is highly rewarding, and we offer an attractive salary plus a range of benefits including salary sacrifice schemes, car leasing, on-site staff accommodation (subject to availability), NHS pension options, and opportunities for professional development.

We welcome applications from people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds and from people with a disability; these groups are currently under-represented at senior level. The Trust values diversity and is committed to equality in recruitment.

COVID-19 vaccination is encouraged to protect staff, patients and colleagues. Vaccination status will be checked for new starters to support risk management; information and guidance are available on the NHS Black Country and West Birmingham CCG site. Some government considerations may determine vaccination requirements for new starters.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is proud to be part of the Armed Forces Covenant and holds the Bronze Award, with aims to progress to Silver and Gold.
