We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at the Boston Indoor Bowling Club. As a Club Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service, ensuring the smooth operation of the club, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our members and guests. The hours will be split between bar/bowling assistant position and cleaning duties. This is a seasonal position, running from September to the end of April, with the possibility of future opportunities.
Responsibilities:
* Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team to deliver exceptional service to club members and guests.
* Handle bar work duties, including serving beverages and snacks, taking payments for bowling sessions, and maintaining accurate cash handling procedures.
* Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the club premises, including the bar area, bowling green, and seating areas.
* Operate the computer system to register and process payments for bowling sessions, ensuring basic computer literacy.
* Adhere to the monthly rota schedule for shifts and maintain punctuality and reliability.
* Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, providing information about club facilities and services, and resolving any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
* Demonstrate good manners, effective communication skills, and a friendly demeanour when interacting with members, guests, and colleagues.
* Perform end-of-day procedures, which may include locking up the club premises, ensuring security protocols are followed.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a customer service role is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided.
* Basic computer literacy is desirables but full training will be given to operate the club's computer system and handle cash transactions accurately.
* Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously.
* Availability to work on a part-time basis.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as per the club's schedule.
* Must be reliable, punctual, and dedicated to fulfilling assigned responsibilities.
* Physical stamina and ability to be on your feet for extended periods and perform light lifting or moving of equipment.
