Job Description:
Role: Security Operations Manager
Location: London - hybrid 2 days a week in the office
Reports to: CISO
The role involves supporting the information security needs of a high-profile website and an administrative IT environment supporting nearly 1,000 staff across multiple locations. The Security Ops Manager will collaborate with various departments to ensure security objectives are met, incidents are effectively responded to, and our security posture remains robust.
What you’ll be doing
* Providing technical leadership and expertise on information security best practices.
* Planning and executing projects aligned with security objectives.
* Collaborating with DevOps on security controls in GCP hosting environment.
* Working with IT Infrastructure on migrating to Azure.
* Leading threat modeling sessions.
* Managing SIEM and XDR tools, and supporting incident response activities.
* Conducting threat hunts and participating in penetration tests and red team exercises.
* Evaluating compliance with regulations like FCA, PCI-DSS, GDPR.
* Staying updated on cyber threats and shaping response strategies.
* Coaching team members and removing blockers to support their development.
Candidate Profile
* Passionate about information security and organizational embedding.
* Capable of managing workload and prioritizing tasks.
* Excellent communicator and collaborator across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Decisive with integrity and professionalism.
* Proactive, hands-on, and improvement-driven.
Qualifications and Experience
* At least five years in a technical security role or equivalent research experience.
* Degree in Computer Science, Security, or related field, or equivalent industry experience/qualifications (e.g., SANS, EC-Council, OSCP).
* Experience in application security, Windows and M365 security, cloud security (GCP/Azure), SIEM/XDR, networking, and data processing tools.
