Location: Remote

Hours: Monday - Friday 09:00-17:30

About the Role:

As a Business Development Manager at Kensington, you will focus on building and developing successful relationships with mortgage intermediaries through inbound and outbound telephone activity. You will work alongside a field-based Business Development Manager to ensure that mortgage intermediaries receive the best possible sales support, in relation to Kensington’s products and criteria, and how they meet the needs of potential customers.


Key Responsibilities:

* Customer and Relationship Management: Be the first point of contact for mortgage intermediaries, providing excellent broker sales support and managing inbound call volumes within agreed service levels. Develop relationships through dynamic questioning techniques and effective cross-selling of Kensington’s offerings.
* Pre-Application Support: Provide pre-application submission support to brokers using Kensington’s online portal, assisting with technical issues and reviewing declined/referred applications to convert them into quality submissions.
* Outbound Calling Plan: Collaborate with the field-based Business Development Manager to devise a structured outbound calling plan in line with account segmentation.
* Exhibitions and Events: Attend external exhibitions and events to enhance Kensington’s presence in the broker community.
* Process Management: Work with the field-based Business Development Manager to segment relevant databases and maximize contact strategy within field, BDU, or campaign teams.
* Risk and Compliance Management: Ensure responsibilities regarding Treating Customers Fairly, Prevention of Financial Crime, and adherence to company policies are carried out effectively.


Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

* Competitor Awareness: Demonstrate knowledge of main competitors and their service levels, key products, and criteria.
* Product Knowledge: Possess detailed knowledge of product ranges and promote key selling points.
* Criteria Knowledge: Understand lending policy and underwriting processes and apply this knowledge to new business enquiries.
* Commercial Awareness: Display informed knowledge of market conditions and regulatory issues when conversing with internal and external customers.
* Regulatory Knowledge: Act with integrity at all times and promote good customer outcomes through structured broker support.
