Supply Chain Assistant
Location: Derby
Salary: £26,000 per annum
Job Type: Full Time / Permanent
Working Hours: Monday – Thursday 9am – 5pm, Friday 9am – 5pm
We are looking for a Supply Chain Assistant to join a busy supply chain team in Derby. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sourcing and procuring components, raw materials and finished goods, while developing all aspects of the buying process.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in sourcing and purchasing components, raw materials, and finished goods
Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes, confirm pricing, and ensure timely delivery
Support purchase negotiations and maintain strong supplier relationships
Monitor stock levels, assist with forecasting, and manage purchase order records
Work closely with sales teams to align purchasing with business priorities
Communicate with 3rd party logistics providers and contract packers to ensure smooth operations
Identify opportunities for supplier improvement and cost savings
Provide general administrative support including reports and data entry
About You:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Effective written and verbal communication
Strong Excel skills are essential – confident in data entry, analysis, and reporting
Competent in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Self-motivated with excellent time management
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Degree-level qualification preferred
