Director – Electrical (Glasgow)
Salary: £83,000 – £95,000 + Travel Allowance

A senior leadership opportunity for an experienced Electrical Director to shape strategy, drive business growth, and oversee the successful delivery of large, complex engineering projects across Scotland and the wider UK. This role is suited to someone who combines technical authority with commercial acumen and strong leadership capability.
The Opportunity
You will set direction for future project delivery, oversee performance across your business area, and act as a strategic partner to key clients. This includes leading multi-disciplinary teams, securing new work, managing financial performance, and guiding senior professionals while ensuring consistent, high-quality engineering outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong client relationships, supporting long-term repeat business
Develop strategy and support other Directors with growth across new and existing sectors
Lead bid preparation and coordinate tender activities across disciplines
Oversee project appointments and manage risk throughout the project lifecycle
Plan, lead and manage medium-to-large-scale engineering projects
Coordinate resources and ensure effective delivery across teams
Own financial performance across your project portfolio, including invoicing and revenue management
Provide senior technical input on complex or high-risk schemes
Support recruitment activities and participate in candidate selection
Mentor and develop senior and emerging engineering talent within the team
What You Need
Chartered status with a strong electrical engineering background
Extensive industry experience, ideally within consultancy or a combined consultancy/contractor background
Strong understanding of complementary design disciplines and integrated project delivery
Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage deadlines, resources, and commercial performance across multiple projects
Proven experience working with clients and collaborators in a design-oriented environment
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, guide and mentor others
Experience in science & research or healthcare sectors is beneficial but not essential
