Administrative Support Officer – Bridgend District Nursing Service
Working independently, the post holder will provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support for the Bridgend District Nursing service and the wider integrated health and social care team over a 7-day rota period, which includes weekends, bank holidays and evenings.
The role requires a wide knowledge of a range of clinical and non-clinical information systems, and will utilise a variety of IT functions and systems in the District Nursing team.
Responsibilities
* Use the Civica Scheduling tool, following appropriate training, to support District Nursing Service patient caseload management.
* Deal with face-to-face and telephone enquiries from staff and members of the public in a friendly and courteous manner, maintaining utmost confidentiality at all times.
* Input data onto spreadsheets on a daily basis.
* Support staff in the use of IT packages.
* Create and maintain accurate electronic patient archiving records in accordance with the Health Board records management and retention policy, and retrieve patient records promptly upon request.
* Respond to complex queries directed to the post holder in an effective and timely manner.
* Behave consistently with the values and beliefs of the Health Board and promote these on a day-to-day basis.
* Liaise and interact with other users and colleagues as required.
* Maintain sound working relationships with other team members.
* Use initiative and take responsibility for the quality of work and the service provided to the Community Network team and patients; work is managed rather than supervised.
* Be knowledgeable in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board policies and procedures.
* Have excellent communication skills and communicate effectively with the District Nursing Team, the wider multidisciplinary team, patients and their relatives, with the ability to signpost individuals to the appropriate service when necessary.
Qualifications
* Excellent communication skills.
* Strong IT proficiency with clinical and non-clinical information systems.
* Ability to work independently within a 7-day rota, including weekends, bank holidays and evenings.
* Knowledge of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board policies and procedures.
