Company Overview
Our client, a well-established civil engineering contractor, offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a permanent basis. You will play a pivotal role in a brand-new multi-million pound Power Transmission Framework project for SSE. As this role is at the Early Contractor Involvement stage, you will join the team from the outset and see the project through to its successful completion.
Role Details
* Location: Glasgow (head office on the outskirts); following this, work on various sites between Inverness and Aberdeen.
* Project: Power Transmission Framework
* Duration/Timing: Based in the head office until Summer 2025; thereafter, site work across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the commercial aspects of projects within the power sector, ensuring cost control and adherence to budgets.
* Collaborate with project teams to provide accurate cost forecasts, financial reports, and procurement strategies.
* Conduct thorough cost analysis, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiencies.
* Administer contracts and manage subcontractor relationships effectively.
* Provide expert advice on contractual matters, resolving disputes and mitigating risks.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications And Skills
* Degree in Quantity Surveying.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or power industry.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes.
* Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Professional accreditation (RICS, CIOB, etc.) is desirable but not essential.
