Description
The Engineering Safety & Compliance Engineer provides specialist technical support and mentorship to support Global Engineering, Global Governance, and site stakeholders. Main responsibilities include delivering machinery safety PUWER risk assessments within Diageo’s Scotch sector, supporting legislation clarification, and embedding global engineering standards across sites.
Key Accountabilities include:
* Mentoring on machinery safety for Diageo’s Global Capex Engineering teams in the Scotch sector
* Coordinating all Scotch sector PUWER machinery assessments
* Updating PUWER machinery assessments at existing Scotch production locations
* Leading Scotch sector machinery inventory on Diageo’s PUWER database
* Providing machinery safety guidance to site and governance stakeholders
* Reviewing and updating global engineering standards and legislation
Qualifications and Skills:
* Suitable machinery safety qualification (CMSE, UCPD, C&G, or similar)
* Knowledge of CE marking and machinery safety standards (EN ISO 13849-1, EN 62061)
* Understanding of PUWER regulations
* Electrical qualification (HNC, ONC, C&G, or equivalent)
* NEBOSH National General Certificate or willing to obtain
* Excellent communication skills
* Relationship-building abilities
* IT and data analysis skills (Excel, Power BI) are advantageous
* Experience in a fast-paced consumer goods environment
* Attention to detail, adaptability, and planning skills
* Willingness to travel within Europe and hold a valid passport and clean driving license
