RPS, alongside Tetra Tech, has secured a £100 million single-award framework from United Utilities to enhance river health in Northwest England. With over 20 years of collaboration with United Utilities, RPS offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects in the water industry, especially as we approach AMP8.
About The Team:
RPS Water Consulting comprises Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy services to water industry clients. Our industry is evolving, presenting challenges and opportunities that require innovation, dedication, and teamwork.
About You:
Ideal candidates will have experience with urban drainage projects, proficiency in InfoWorks ICM and GIS software, strong teamwork skills, and leadership potential to mentor and guide other modelling personnel.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Construct, verify, and maintain wastewater models.
2. Deliver feasibility studies, use studies, optioneering, and assessments for wastewater networks.
3. Ensure quality and compliance of modelling outputs.
4. Manage small projects.
5. Maintain collaborative client relationships.
6. Provide technical support within the team.
7. Adhere to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
* Relevant experience in modelling within a consultancy or water company.
* Proficiency in Excel, Visual Basic, and InfoWorks ICM.
* Knowledge of GIS systems (MapInfo, ArcGIS, QGIS).
* Experience handling large datasets and water-focused data analysis packages.
* Understanding of the UK water industry.
* Excellent communication skills.
Qualifications:
* Degree in a relevant technical subject; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
* Chartered or working towards chartership.
* Membership with professional bodies like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM preferred.
