Job Title: Design Technology Teacher
Location: Barnsley (S70 & S71)
Pay Rate: Up to £200 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time
Are you a creative and skilled Design Technology Teacher looking to inspire pupils and make a real impact in the S70 & S71 areas of Barnsley?
GSL Education are seeking experienced Design Technology Teachers to work in schools across Barnsley (S70 & S71). This is a fantastic opportunity to nurture creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities through engaging and practical lessons.
As a Design Technology Teacher, you will:
* Plan and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
* Teach practical and theoretical aspects of DT, including product design and manufacturing processes.
* Promote creativity, innovation, and safe working practices.
* Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback.
* Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed workshop/classroom environment.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
* Uphold safeguarding and school policies at all times.
Requirements for the role:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised qualification.
* Experience teaching Design Technology at school level.
* Strong classroom and workshop management skills.
* A passion for motivating and inspiring young people through creative learning.
* An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
