The role
As a Senior Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer, you’ll lead the delivery of complex, safety‑critical electrical, control and instrumentation solutions across the nuclear lifecycle, from new facilities through to operational support and decommissioning.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
1. Leading the design, specification and integration of electrical, control and instrumentation systems
2. Delivering high‑quality engineering outputs that meet nuclear safety, quality and regulatory standards
3. Collaborating with project teams, safety case authors, commissioning engineers and stakeholders
4. Reviewing technical documentation, calculations and specifications for compliance and robustness
5. Supporting continuous improvement and innovation within safety‑critical engineering solutions
This is a full‑time, permanent role working 37 hours per week. The role can be based at any of our main UK locations, depending on project demand including Glasgow, Leicester, Bristol, Newbury or Warrington. Hybrid working patterns are available.
Essential experience of the Senior Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer:
6. Extensive experience designing and delivering electrical, control and instrumentation systems
7. Proven application of nuclear or highly regulated industry standards and safety requirements
8. Experience contributing to complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects
9. Ability to engage effectively with regulators, clients and technical stakeholders
10. Experience producing and reviewing technical specifications, calculations and safety inputs
Qualifications of the Senior Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer:
11. Degree qualified in an electrical, control or instrumentation engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
12. Professional registration with a recognised engineering institution is desirable
