We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and technically skilled individual to step into the role of Senior Network Specialist within our Network Team. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting and developing the Trust’s converged voice and data network across over 30 sites, helping to maintain the digital foundations that underpin safe, effective patient care.

Main duties of the job
What you'll be doing:
1. Leading project work and resolving complex second-line network issues
2. Supporting LAN/WAN/DC/WiFi and firewall infrastructure across clinical and non-clinical areas
3. Assisting in the design and delivery of resilient, secure network solutions
4. Acting as a senior technical point of contact in the absence of the Network Manager
5. Supporting continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and innovation
What we’re looking for:
6. Solid understanding of networking, VOIP, wireless and cyber security principles
7. Experience in enterprise-level LAN/WAN environments (minimum 2 years)
8. Ability to use network monitoring and analysis tools
9. Effective communicator with the ability to explain technical issues clearly

Training and experience
Essential criteria
18. 2 years experience as a Network Specialist in an enterprise LAN/WAN
19. Experience working in converged voice and data infrastructures
20. Previous experience of delivering technical programmes of work in a clinical environment
21. Experience of managing change through appropriate processes and channels
Desirable criteria
22. Previous experience working in a technical role within an acute NHS trust
23. VMWare experience
24. Experience of working as part of an oncall rote supporting critical infrastructure on a 24/7/365 basis
Knowledge, Qualifications
Essential criteria
25. Education to degree level or equivalent
26. Competent to level of Cisco Certified Network Associate.
27. Understanding of CIPT/VOIP fundamentals
28. Understanding of cyber Security principles and perimeter security solutions
29. Understanding of Wireless technologies including supporting infrastructure (ISE/DNA)
30. Full understanding of networking fundamentals
31. Thorough understanding of NHS regulations and compliance policies relating to HSCN and DSPT/CAF
Desirable criteria
32. Working knowledge of C9K-WLC
33. Passed Cisco Certified Network Associate examination working towards Cisco Certified Network Professional
Analytical and judgemental skills
Essential criteria
34. Working knowledge of Network Monitoring tools
35. Demonstrable experience of using Network Monitoring tools to analyse network problems/issues and assist in capacity planning.
Planning and organisational skills
Essential criteria
36. 2 years’ experience of managing own priorities
37. Effectively manage given projects using PRINCE II methodology
