Do you have what it takes to become a Technology Vendor Manager?
Reporting to the GM, IT Transformation & Performance, you will oversee end‑to‑end IT vendor governance to ensure compliance, performance and alignment with Smart's strategic goals. You will also manage software and cloud expenditure through rigorous cost control and optimisation initiatives, while maintaining high‑quality service delivery from our IT outsourcing partners.
What you'll do:
• Vendor relationship leadership for key technology suppliers: primary point of contact for performance, commercials and 3rd‑party governance.
• Contract lifecycle management: ensure obligations are met and Smart policies are complied with (e.g., Cyber Security, Modern Slavery), including variations and dispute resolution.
• Performance monitoring & reporting: manage SLAs/KPIs, run governance reviews, and deliver regular reports on performance, contract status and spend to senior stakeholders.
• Structured governance cadence for Tier‑1 suppliers across business and management levels.
• 3rd‑party risk management: facilitate risk identification, mitigation and oversight to avoid financial, legal and reputational impacts.
• Cost management & optimisation (Cloud & Software): analyse consumption and contracts with Finance; identify/reserve rightsizing, modernisation and license optimisation opportunities.
• Stakeholder collaboration with IT, Procurement and Finance to ensure services meet business needs and planned outcomes.
• People development: coach and enable two offshore IT Vendor Coordinators to deliver high‑quality, consistent outcomes.
What you'll bring:
• Demonstrated governance and performance monitoring experience across strategic technology vendors.
• Hands‑on experience with IT outsourcing providers (MSP/SI/BPO) and formal SLA frameworks.
• Strong cloud cost control expertise (e.g., FinOps practices, reservation/commitment management, showback/chargeback) and exposure to Software Asset Management (SAM) tools/processes.
• Proven contract negotiation & lifecycle management skills, with the ability to resolve commercial issues quickly and fairly.
• Data fluency to analyse IT software and cloud cost drivers; able to translate insights for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, relationship building and stakeholder influence across Technology, Finance and Procurement.
