The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa is seeking a proactive and hands‑on Spa Duty Manager to support the day‑to‑day operation of our award‑winning Nàdarra Spa.
Reporting to the Spa General Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily running of the spa, ensuring smooth operations, high standards of cleanliness and safety, and exceptional guest experiences at all times.

You’ll be joining a supportive team and working closely with the Spa General Manager to deliver outstanding service standards and operational excellence within our luxury spa environment.
What makes this role special?
You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the spa, ensuring all treatments, experiences and facilities run efficiently, safely and to the highest standard. This role is for a superstar. An all‑rounder who will be able to slot in on covering reception, working in the F&B facility, working as a host, and undergo pool‑plant training and all relevant spa required training.
You will:
* Oversee the day‑to‑day operation of the spa, monitoring performance and ensuring smooth service delivery across all areas
* Ensure treatments and spa experiences run on time with no unnecessary delays
* Conduct hourly walkarounds of the facility to maintain cleanliness, safety and presentation standards
* Delegate tasks effectively to spa team members to ensure operational efficiency
* Complete regular departmental checks to identify maintenance, health & safety or operational issues
* Take appropriate action on cleanliness, maintenance and safety concerns, ensuring they are communicated and recorded correctly
* Maintain a strong front‑of‑house presence, interacting with guests and members to enhance their experience
* Handle guest requests and complaints professionally, following correct procedures and escalating where necessary
* Ensure clear communication between team members and deliver thorough shift handovers
* Monitor availability of spa services and communicate effectively with both team and guests
* Report all relevant issues to the Spa General Manager or escalate appropriately when off‑site
Key responsibilities
* Ensure all opening procedures and morning tasks are completed and signed off
* Conduct full spa walkarounds including external areas, ensuring cleanliness and safety
* Check all poolside facilities are operational, clean and ready for use
* Engage with guests and members to ensure satisfaction
* Ensure all team members have required resources for their shift
* Monitor linen and laundry levels and arrange additional stock where required
* Represent the spa in daily operational meetings and communicate key updates
* Complete hourly checks and assign tasks accordingly
* Conduct a detailed handovers for the Spa management team
* Review the day’s schedule, targets and upcoming bookings
* Ensure all closing procedures are completed and signed off
* Secure the spa, including turning off lights and locking designated areas
* Complete cash handling procedures and ensure floats are securely stored
Additional duties
* Carry out pool testing
* Support spa hosts and wider team when required
* Assist with spa treatments such as garden bath and rasul experiences
* Deliver guest welcomes and assist on reception where needed
* Step in to support daily operational meetings in the absence of the Spa General Manager
* Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the spa at all times
Who we’re looking for
This is a key operational role within the spa, requiring a confident and organised individual who thrives in a fast‑paced, guest‑focused environment.
You will be:
* Experienced in a supervisory or duty management role within a spa, leisure or hospitality environment
* A hands‑on leader who leads by example and supports the team on the floor
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences
* Confident in handling guest queries and resolving complaints
* A strong communicator with the ability to coordinate teams effectively
* Proactive in identifying and resolving operational challenges
What you’ll receive
£28,500 per year
40 hours per week
