The role
We’re looking for a confident and experienced Credit Control Manager with solid management experience to lead and develop our credit control function. You’ll be responsible for managing the team across eight different companies with separate ledgers, improving collection processes, driving performance, and working closely with internal stakeholders to reduce aged debt and ensure effective communication across the business.
This is a key leadership role with a strong focus on team development, systems improvement, and strategic oversight of our ledgers.
Responsibilities include;
* Lead and manage the credit control team, including recruitment, training, and performance management
* Design and implement customer-specific debt collection strategies
* Review and improve processes and systems to enhance performance
* Take ownership of aged debt and ensure timely collection of outstanding balances
* Provide timely and insightful reporting to senior management
* Set clear team targets and objectives aligned to business goals
* Act as a point of escalation for complex disputes and ensure timely resolution
* Work closely with Sales, Billing, and other teams to support collaboration and resolve issues
* Represent the Credit Control function in internal meetings and cross-functional projects
The ideal person
You will have:
* Proven experience in a credit control leadership role, with at least three years of management experience
* Strong understanding of debt management and credit control processes
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships
* Strong reporting and analytical capabilities
* Have intermediate computer software skills, including Excel
* Experience in system/process improvement initiatives
* Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing credit control team
