We are currently recruiting full time, part time and bank Mental Health Support Workers to support individuals with mental health conditions, autism and/or learning disabilities within a supported living residence in the
CARLISLE
area.

Role Description

We currently have a great opportunity for dedicated Mental Health Support Workers to work with individuals who have a mental health condition, autism and learning disability. The individuals will be living in their own homes within a supported living residence so we are looking for Mental Health Support Workers who can provide 360 wrap around support that covers all aspects of their life throughout the day and night. Support Workers will be playing an active role in engaging individuals within their community, will require creative thinking skills to adapt support, and support with physically energetic activities.
To be part of their team, they are looking for the following qualities from a team member: • Provide support during the good times and the difficult periods our individual faces in their daily life. • Have a good understanding of Autism / Mental Health and how this can impact daily living or have working with in a mental health setting • Understand Autism or have had experience working with Autistic people, and that you understand that being autistic is an important part of who they are. • Be a positive advocate for them. • Be consistent - do what you say you say you will if you can't explain why. • Be prepared to motivate them in a supportive manner. • Be patient and understanding encourage them on the difficult days, understand the behaviours which can be displayed. • Have a fun and kind personality who will go on adventures, be willing to try new activities the individual wants to participate in. • Work with them to solve issues and overcome day to day tasks. • Come to work to "Get to know me" as that is what is needed to support them. • Work as part of the team who deliver amazing person-centred care. • Think outside the box. • Be able to have a laugh and joke but have set standards and boundaries.

*Refer a friend bonus is payable at • £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their first shift. • £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their probation period.
