Spire is currently going through an exciting phase of their journey and reopening our Hale Clinic which is due to be open towards the end of the year. We are looking for driven candidates who are passionate about private healthcare to come along on this amazing journey with us. For the opening of the new clinic we are looking for a Operations Manager to join the team.
Spire Healthcare is one of the UK’s leading independent hospital groups and the largest in terms of revenue, with 39 hospitals and eight clinics across England, Wales and Scotland.
Our Spire Clinics deliver a specific range of lower risk outpatient and day case treatments (all on a local anaesthetic basis), which provides faster care for day case patients. The Clinical specialties include Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Gynaecology and Orthopaedics.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for providing clear professional leadership of non-clinical services within the clinic, converting new commercial opportunities into operational delivery. Working closely with senior management team to help shape and deliver short and long term business achievement within the Clinic, contributing to the clinics overall success
The responsibilities of this role will include:
• Provide clear leadership in the operation and delivery of all non-clinical areas which includes estates, engineering, bookings and reception, ensuring they perform to the required commercial, corporate and professional standards to deliver an exemplary customer experience.
1. Preparing annual budgets for non-clinical departments, regularly monitoring performance and taking appropriate action to meet financial targets and KPI’s
2. Developing strong and effective communication channels throughout non clinical departments by holding regular team meetings and promoting the correct Spire behaviours.
3. Actively promote ongoing personal development within teams to ensure we have a skilled workforce who are up-to-date with any changes relating to their individual roles.
4. Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive whole organisational approach to improving customer service, including setting standards, benchmarking and agreeing action plans with Heads of Departments.
5. Constantly reviewing performance of the clinic based on feedback received from customers, including consultants and developing action plans for ongoing continuous improvement.
6. Producing annual action plans, identifying financial targets and improved profitability through maximising revenue capture and reductions in cost base.
7. Proactively work with the General Manager and senior management team to identify commercial development opportunities and lead on converting such opportunities into operational delivery
The Ideal candidate will have:
• Track record of successful delivery in a managerial role, ideally in a multi-functional environment
8. Previous experience working in the healthcare industry or a similar customer orientated organisation
9. Demonstrated ability in problem solving and process improvements skills
10. Ability to understand key business processes and complex business issues.
11. Demonstrated ability in people management to deliver a plan of activity through direct reports
12. Ability to work effectively in an organisation where matrix management is key to success
13. Ability to understand and manage effectively the impact of competing pressures and conflicting priorities.
14. Ability to challenge constructively in a solution orientated way.
