Great opportunity to work as a Yard Controller for our client's brand-new distribution centre at one of their sites based in Stanford-Le-Hope (London Thames Gateway)!
The rate of pay is:
- Rotational Days £14.58 per hour
- Nights £16.62 per hour
Overtime is available after 37.5 basic hours worked in the week and is paid at:
- Days £21.87 per hour
- Nights £24.93 per hour
This is a full-time role working rotational day shifts or a fixed night shift, any 5 days out of 7, and the hours of work are:
- 6am to 2pm
- 2pm to 10pm
- 10pm to 6am
Please check the location of the site as there is no public transport. Your own transport will be beneficial.
Your Time at Work
As a Yard Controller you must be able to organise and support the management of the trailers and vehicles in the yard on client's site.
This role requires good communication as there will be interaction with drivers, shunters, the flow team and the transport team regarding which bays are free, which bays need trailers pulled off, any VORs/defects and maintaining a safe working environment.
Our Perfect Worker
Our perfect worker must be physically fit and be able to stand on their feet for long periods of time and walk long distances. The role would be based outside, so you will need to be able to work in any weather conditions.
Applicants will have good English skills, as you will need to be able to communicate with the drivers/shunters. You will be organised and pay good attention to the details.
Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial.
