An exciting job opportunity has arisen for a Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) Project Coordinator to develop, lead and support the implementation of the nationally accredited DAHA framework for Canterbury City Council.

You will identify and scope the work needed to achieve accreditation, engage with a wide variety of stakeholders to inform policy changes, and embed best practice in this area.

This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

Here’s what you’ll be doing

Reviewing all Canterbury City Council Housing service areas against the DAHA accreditation framework.

* You will identify and scope the work needed to achieve accreditation.
* Coordinate working groups to meet the needs and objectives of the accreditation.
* Identify and meet with key stakeholders and internal council officers to inform key policy changes and introduce interventions to support survivors.
* Support and advise in ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements
* Assist with embedding changes and updates to domestic abuse policy or legislation to the whole organisation.
* Assist with introducing new policies and interventions to support domestic abuse survivors

Working pattern

* This is a full-time role, which is 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday. We do not work on Bank Holidays.
* We offer a generous annual leave entitlement. You’ll receive 23 days' annual leave, which increases with service, plus band holidays, PLUS 3 given days which are usually used over the Christmas period when our main offices are closed. You’ll also have the option to buy more annual leave.
* This is a hybrid role, working from home and from the office
* This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months

About you

Your knowledge

* Understanding of Domestic Abuse legislation
* Understanding of homeless legislation

Your skills

* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
* Ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
* Organise and prioritise a challenging and flexible workload
* Able to influence and negotiate to gain buy-in

Your experience

* An understanding of using project management principles in taking work forward
* Demonstrable experience of stakeholder and partnership working
* Experience in policy development

Your qualifications

* A level/HND equivalent or relevant extensive work experience
