Graduate Town Planner - Sheffield | Planning & Development Consultancy
Are you a recent graduate in Town Planning or a related discipline looking to launch your career with a highly regarded planning consultancy? A well-established and growing planning and development consultancy in Sheffield is looking to appoint a Graduate Town Planner to join their collaborative and supportive team.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of planning projects while working alongside experienced planners who will support your professional development and RTPI pathway.
The Role
As a Graduate Town Planner, you will support senior planners on a variety of projects across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. You will gain exposure to the full planning process and develop strong technical and professional skills.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals
* Undertaking planning policy research and site appraisals
* Preparing supporting documents including planning statements
* Liaising with local authorities, consultants and clients
* Monitoring planning applications and policy changes
* Supporting senior team members with project delivery
About You
The successful candidate will be motivated, organised and eager to build a career within planning.
You should have:
* A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline
* Ideally RTPI-accredited qualification (or working towards one)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Good research and analytical abilities
* A proactive and enthusiastic attitude
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Previous planning-related work experience (internships, placements, or consultancy experience) would be beneficial but is not essential.
