An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our speech and language therapy team, working in a friendly and dynamic department.
Overview
The post holder will support the Speech and Language Therapists in managing patients who are experiencing difficulties with their communication and/or swallowing. This role is based at the Royal Oldham Hospital within the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.
Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.
Responsibilities
 * Assist registered professionals in the assessment, management, and support of patients with communication and swallowing problems.
 * Prepare and support the weekly videofluoroscopy clinic, including assisting during the clinic when required.
 * Implement exercise programmes, create personalised supportive communication systems, liaise with relatives and other healthcare professionals, and attend multidisciplinary team meetings.
 * Provide treatment requiring dexterity, hand‑eye coordination, and patient handling skills.
 * Manage your own caseload, working independently within pre‑set parameters, monitoring and progressing treatment plans as appropriate.
 * Carry out delegated clinical and non‑clinical tasks, including administrative duties, under the direction of a registered professional.

 * Excellent communication skills.
 * Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 * Strong organisational and administrative capabilities.
