Function: Claims
Role: Claims Technician
Reports to: Regional Claims Director [Deputy Claims Director]
Overall Objective of Role:
To support claims executives with technical and administrative back-up, in order that they may deliver a quick and accurate service. To be involved with team claims handling over time as led by the Regional Claims Director.
Main responsibilities:
* To undertake all Claims administration.
* Good working knowledge of claim systems and claims reports
* Working alongside staff to assist on the administration of more complex claims in order to build experience.
* Learning about policies and procedures of the TT Club as well as IT applications.
* Gaining an understanding of loss prevention,.
* Regularly attending internal training events and as well as some external events.
* Developing productive relation through and assistance with account management tasks.
Person Specification:
* Organised and enthusiastic individual with excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise.
* Good communication skills both verbal and written.
* Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders.
* An good customer service focus.
* Flexible and adaptable with ability to work under pressure.
* A team worker but also able to work on own initiative.
* Self-motivated with good problem-solving skills and an acquisitive mind-set looking to enhance their knowledge base further.
* Good IT skills – both bespoke systems and Microsoft and particularly excel.
* Experience of marine insurance (liability and marine/non-marine property) is an advantage.
* Knowledge of the marine mutual sector and/or understanding/experience of the marine transport market is an advantage.
* Awareness of current regulatory environment/compliance issues.
