Location: West Tullos Depot, Duration: Permanent, Full Time
Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 10 and above (currently £30,030 per annum / £16.50 per hour)).
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee's first FULL month's salary payment.
Job Purpose/About the Role
To provide competent technical solutions as part of a team investigating, appraising and assisting in the delivery of projects in order to manage and maintain the transport network in a safe and suitable condition.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
* HNC in Engineering discipline relevant to the department
* Full UK Driving Licence
The postholder is able to demonstrate:
* Proven ability to use a range of computer-based systems including Office 365 packages and Microsoft Teams
* Proven ability to take a logical and analytical approach to solving problems
* Proven ability to analyse different types of data and identify patterns and trends
* Experience writing complex reports on performance indicators which include analysis of different datasets
* Experience managing competing demands/priorities
* Proven ability to manage contracts and associated contractors
* Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
* Proven ability to manage a real time workload while delivering on key objectives
* Proven ability to provide professional advice and make effective decisions
* Proven ability to supervise site works and teams
