Do you have experience supporting people in the community? Are you looking for something new, interesting and stimulating which offers the opportunity to use and enhance your experience? If so, the Reconnect Service is recruiting a full time Support Time Recovery Worker to support people being released from prison.
Working alongside Mental Health Practitioners, Support Time and Recovery (STR) workers provide 1:1 support to clients for up to 6 months, offering information and support to access a wide range of agencies and services that can help with housing, social isolation and exclusion, education, debt management, employment and substance use issues. This role involves working with adults with a complex range of physical and mental health needs and other vulnerabilities who have recently been released from prison.
A key function is to work in close liaison with and build links between partner agencies to support effective enablement for service users.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support to clients for up to 6 months to address practical concerns affecting mental health and wellbeing.
* Assist clients to access housing, education, debt management, employment, substance use services and strategies to reduce social isolation and exclusion.
* Collaborate with Mental Health Practitioners and partner agencies to enable effective support and enablement.
* Maintain links with a network of agencies and services to support clients’ needs.
* Travel as required; the role operates across Dorset and may require covering the county and providing occasional cover in other locations within the service area.
* Confirm eligibility and complete required clearances, including prison vetting, prior to or during employment as applicable.
Requirements
* Full and valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes (base location tailored to candidate but with potential travel across Dorset).
* Applications from candidates requiring Sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible to apply for this position.
* Evidence of relevant experience supporting people in the community and working with adults with complex physical and mental health needs.
* Ability to work in close liaison with partner agencies and support effective enablement for service users.
* Passed the prison vetting process or be able to meet vetting requirements.
