As a Bank WingPharmacy Technician, your days will be rewarding and varied. You will work on a wing responsible for the administration of medication to patients and related medication management activities, including audits and stock checks, under the guidance of the Clinical Lead and Pharmacist Manager. You are expected to work autonomously within established guidelines, standard operating procedures, and the Medicine Policy.
Main Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
* Administer medication to patients and carry out medication management activities, including audits and stock checks, under supervision.
* Work independently within guidelines, SOPs, and Medicine Policy.
* Contribute to a legal, safe, and high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, aligned with national and local policies, maintaining high security standards.
* Provide medicines administration services to patients.
* Collaborate with clinical practitioners to deliver a wing technician medicine management service on designated wings.
* Support the implementation of medicine management strategies, services, and projects across the prison.
* Assist with cost-effective prescribing, medicines optimisation, and medication budget management.
* Promote safe pharmacy practices within the prison, including providing advice and training to patients and staff.
The Ideal Candidate
You must be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have experience in hospital, primary care, or community pharmacy settings.
You should be confident in using IT systems and possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
