You will work closely with Professor Terracciano and the wider Cardiac Function Section team, providing hands-on research assistance alongside day-to-day administrative and clerical support. A key part of the role is enabling a disabled member of staff to work independently and with dignity, making a direct and positive impact on their professional life.What you would be doingYou will perform simple laboratory tasks to assist members of the laboratory in their experiments, monitor laboratory activity on a daily basis, perform regular maintenance on equipment (eg, microscope assembly). You will place all orders for the Lab and liaise directly with suppliers.Additionally, you will be the first point of contact which includes telephone calls, general enquiries, welcoming visitors, etc. You will provide basic secretarial support, including taking notes at meetings which you will attend where relevant (this also includes attendance at teaching activities).Please read the Job Description carefully to ensure you are aware of all aspects of this role that are required.What we are looking forA degree in a Biological Science field or equivalent vocational qualification or relevant laboratory-based experience would be desirable.You must have experience in laboratory-based research (including management of equipment maintenance).
