We are looking for a Night Shift Production Operative to join the UK’s leading ground engineering and geotechnical contractor. What you'll be doing
* Working nights as part of a small team producing welded steel cages for dayshift to cast concrete piles.
* Operating an automated welding machine to produce cages of various lengths and sizes and preparing moulds ready to be cast with concrete.
* Be Health and Safety conscious and aware of any impact your actions may be having on the environment.
* Work as part of a small flexible team, primarily producing steel wire cages for precast piles but to also occasionally undertake other functions and responsibilities that meet the needs of department.
* Meet production targets set daily to ensure processes run without any unplanned downtime and efficiently.
* Keeping records of shift performance and downtime.
* Be reliable, dependable and a good timekeeper.
* Complete quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standard.
Who we're looking for (person specification)
* Basic numeracy and literacy
* Previous experience of a production environment.
* Previous use of overhead cranes, forklift and/or any welding experience
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy
* Willingness to work flexibly to support the overall aims of the team and changing priorities.
* Personable good communicator who is a team player and gets on well with others.
* Eligible to work and live in the UK.
