Job Description:
As a Senior Social Worker specialising in Duty and Assessments, you will handle cases from the initial contact stage, conducting both S17 and S47 assessments until closure, step-down, or transfer to the safeguarding teams. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, consistent, and responsive services to children, young people, and families within the community.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Undertaking comprehensive S17 and S47 assessments, ensuring thorough understanding of the needs and risks involved.
* Managing caseloads efficiently, prioritising tasks and adhering to deadlines.
* Collaborating closely with other professionals, including safeguarding teams, to ensure integrated and holistic support for service users.
* Providing support and guidance to less experienced team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
* Participating in regular team meetings, contributing to discussions and sharing knowledge and best practices.
* Engaging with service users, families, and relevant stakeholders in a respectful, empathetic, and culturally sensitive manner.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records, adhering to organisational policies and procedures.
* Attending training sessions and professional development opportunities as required, in partnership with the social work academy.
Requirements:
* Degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification).
* Current registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
* Proven experience as a social worker, with a focus on duty and assessments.
* Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures pertaining to child protection and safeguarding.
* Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with service users and colleagues.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, as well as independently.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and upholding ethical standards in social work practice.
* Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
