Our client is a distinguished privately owned, multi-disciplinary consultancy specialising in property and construction services across commercial sectors.
RCM Ltd are recruiting for a commercially focused Building Surveyor to join a team of seasoned professionals. The Building Surveyor will have proven experience in delivering professional and project-based surveying services across a variety of commercial property types with occasional involvement in large scale residential schemes. The candidate will play a pivotal role in advising clients, project management and ensuring properties are safe, compliant and maintained.
As the Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
* Carry out detailed building surveys and write clear, tailored reports for commercial clients
* Handle key professional services like dilapidations, technical due diligence, schedules of condition, and pre-acquisition surveys
* Manage repair, refurbishment, and fit-out projects from start to finish, including specs, overseeing contracts, and keeping things on track
* Give practical advice on building defects, maintenance planning, and how to stay compliant with building regs
* Help with early-stage project work such as feasibility checks, design reviews, and finding cost-effective solutions
* Work closely with landlords, tenants, developers and legal advisors to resolve property matters
* Make sure everything meets RICS standards, building regulations, and health and safety rules
* Occasionally get involved in residential projects, usually as part of larger, mixed use developments
* Support the team in bringing in new work and building and maintaining strong relationships with clients
As the Building Surveyor, you will hold:
* MRICS Qualifications (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
* Degree in Building Surveying or a closely related discipline
* Proficient in Microsoft Packages
* Strong track record in commercial property surveying, including both professional and project-based work
* Strong knowledge of building construction, contract law, and statutory compliance
Working Schedule:
* Monday to Friday: 9am to 5:30PM
