An exciting opportunity has arisen within South Lanarkshire’s Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services for two Network Engineering Officers.
We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated individuals to join our Network Teams which cover our East Kilbride and Hamilton/Clydesdale areas
You will bring experience of the network function within a roads and transportation environment, including a solid understanding of statutory obligations, responsibilities and relevant legislation. Knowledge of the Roads (Scotland) Act is essential.
You should also have experience in road maintenance processes, procedures and techniques, alongside a strong understanding of asset and financial management. Familiarity with civil engineering procedures and contract administration is required.
Our Network Teams play a vital role in keeping our towns, villages and communities moving. Key duties include:
1. Contributing to the preparation of capital and revenue improvement programmes
2. Preparing Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders
3. Ensuring works comply with all relevant health and safety requirements
4. Managing routine and statutory enquiries, including those from Elected Members and the public
You must be able to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and operate as part of a wider team. A commitment to customer focus, service delivery and continuous improvement is essential.
A full, current driving licence is required, as travel throughout the Council area is expected.
