Advanced Children's Social Worker
Staffordshire County Council offers 4 Children’s Disability teams across the county, providing specialist services for children and young people with complex disabilities. These small teams of dedicated Social Workers support children and families to reach the best outcomes in a timely manner, enabling them to live their lives to the full.
This role will be based at Tamworth.
Main Responsibilities
* Work within a small team of 7-8 social workers.
* Hold and manage a workload of children and young people, prioritising all work.
* Undertake direct work with children, their families and carers, providing high support and challenge and aiming to help families find solutions to their own challenges.
* Provide high quality and timely assessments and reports in the agreed format for Courts, Child Protection Case Conferences, Statutory Reviews and any other forum.
* Maintain client records.
Ideal Candidate
* Qualified Social Worker with post qualification experience working directly with children and families, committed to supporting children to remain with their families.
* Registered with Social Work England.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with children, families and other professionals.
* Team player.
* Ability to engage and communicate with disabled children and commitment to ensuring the children on your case load receive the best quality service.
But above all, you’ll bring the desire to work with children and families to give them the right support, at the right time with the aim of keeping families together where it’s safe to do so.
