NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED – FULL TRAINING PROVIDED
Successful applicants will receive comprehensive training to help you feel confident and capable. You’ll also receive ongoing support from trained professionals such as a dedicated Social Worker, an experienced Foster Carer ‘buddy’ and family style support networks.
Who Can Foster
We are actively recruiting foster carers from all walks of life. You don’t need to own your home, be in a relationship, or have your own children to foster. You can continue to work and foster in some instances.
You’ll need to be:
* Understanding, resilient, and patient
* Able to build trusting relationships with children
* Prepared to support children who may display challenging behaviours due to their life experiences
* Experienced in caring for children — this does not need to be in a formal setting

What Does This Involve?
While providing a loving home is at the heart of fostering, the role is also a professional one with a clear set of responsibilities. It’s about becoming part of a wider team dedicated to a child’s well-being. The role includes everyday parenting tasks such as school runs, attending meetings, supporting family contact, and advocating for the child. You’ll be their champion, ensuring their voice is heard in all aspects of their life, from their education to their health. This commitment, while challenging at times, comes with comprehensive training and dedicated support from a team of professionals, ensuring you never feel alone in your journey.
As a Foster Carer you will need the following
To become a Foster Carer, you need to have a safe, comfortable space for a child. While a spare bedroom offers more flexibility to care for toddlers and older children, it''s not always essential. For a baby, all you need is enough space in your own bedroom for a crib. Ultimately, the priority is providing a secure and nurturing environment where a child can thrive. You will also need to live in Surrey.
