Ad Hoc Primary Supply Teachers – Portsmouth & Surrounding Areas
Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting enthusiastic and adaptable Primary Supply Teachers to support a range of schools across Portsmouth and nearby areas. Whether you’re seeking flexible ad hoc work or more regular placements, we have opportunities to suit your availability.
You’ll be joining welcoming and well-supported school communities, where Senior Leadership Teams are committed to creating positive learning environments. Roles involve covering EYFS, KS1, and KS2 classes across a variety of subjects, making this ideal for qualified teachers, experienced educators, or confident individuals with a background in primary education.
We work closely with a mix of Mainstream Primary Schools and specialist settings, including SEN and Alternative Provisions that support pupils with diverse needs such as Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).

Location: Portsmouth & surrounding areas
Position: Primary Supply Teacher
Type of Work: EYFS, KS1, KS2 cover
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: Ongoing
Contract Type: Temporary
Schedule: Full-time or ad hoc
Pay Rate: £120 – £170 per day
Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Experience, Training & Qualifications
1. QTS or relevant teaching qualification (preferred but not essential)
2. Minimum 1 year of experience working with children
3. Up-to-date Safeguarding training (can be provided)
Eligibility Requirements
4. Right to work in the UK
5. Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to apply)
6. Two professional child-related references
