We are seeking a passionate and skilled Musical Arts Teacher to join our team and lead students on a journey through the rich world of music.
The RoleAs a Musical Arts Teacher, you will deliver engaging and dynamic lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially KS5), covering a broad and inclusive music curriculum. You will nurture students’ musical talents, whether they are beginners or advanced performers, and foster a lifelong appreciation for music in all its forms.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in music theory, performance, andposition.
2. Teach a wide range of musical styles and genres, from classical to contemporary.
3. Prepare students for the GCSE and (if applicable) A-Level Music examinations.
4. Lead and support extracurricular music activities such as choirs, bands, ensembles, and school productions.
5. Organise and direct school concerts, performances, andmunity events.
6. Encourage the use of music technology and digitalposition tools.
7. Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
8. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
9. A recognised teaching qualification (, PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
10. A degree in Music, Music Education, or a closely related field.
11. Experience teaching Music at secondary level (KS3 and KS4 essential; KS5 desirable).
12. Proficiency in at least one musical instrument and/or vocal performance.
13. Strong knowledge of music theory,position, and performance techniques.
14. Familiarity with music technology (, GarageBand, Sibelius, Logic Pro, Ableton).
15. Amitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable Attributes
16. Experience directing ensembles, choirs, or orchestras.
17. Ability to teach music production or sound engineering.
18. Experience with diverse musical traditions and inclusive music education.
19. Willingness to contribute to whole-school arts initiatives and cross-curricular projects.
20. A passion for inspiring creativity and confidence in young musicians.
