We are currently working with a number of mainstream and specialist schools in Northampton who are seeking compassionate, resilient, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistants to join their teams from September 2025. This is a full-time position, ideal for candidates with experience supporting students with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.

What You'll Be Doing:

Providing 1:1 or small group TA support for students with additional needs, both inside and outside the classroom

Assisting the class teacher with differentiation, behaviour management, and inclusive learning strategies

Helping students access the curriculum and build independence, communication, and confidence

Building strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families

Contributing to individual education plans (IEPs), reviews, and progress tracking in collaboration with SENCOs and other professionals

What We're Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN in a school, nursery, or care setting

A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to support diverse needs and behaviours

Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with students who may find learning challenging

Teamwork and a positive, proactive mindset

Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) are beneficial but not essential

A willingness to learn and undertake additional training (e.g. Team Teach, PECS, Makaton)

What You'll Receive:

A full-time, meaningful role with long-term or permanent potential

Competitive pay and consistent working hours during term time

Access to accredited CPD, including SEN-specific training through The National College

A welcoming school community and support from experienced SEN staff and leaders

Guidance and advocacy from a dedicated Tradewind consultant who understands SEN placements

The opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of children who need your support the most

If you're ready to support, empower, and inspire students with special educational needs, we'd love to hear from you.
