We are looking for a Buyer to manage and operate procurement activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The role involves reviewing production schedules, ensuring required materials and components are available, and coordinating closely with Production and Sales teams to meet delivery deadlines. The Buyer will also support the Operations Manager with administrative and planning duties.
Main Duties Include
• Inventory management and stock control
• Materials Requirements Planning (MRP)
• Raising and processing purchase orders
• Sourcing and procurement of electronic and mechanical components, raw materials, and manufacturing services
• Supplier relationship management
• Reviewing and managing costs
• Liaising with suppliers on quotes and lead times
• Coordinating with third-party manufacturers
• Informing production of any supply delays or lead time changes
• Assisting the Operations Manager with general administration
Skills and Experience Required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong inventory control and procurement skills
• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Ability to adapt and work effectively in a dynamic and busy workplace
Role Details
• Full-Time or Part-Time considered
• Salary dependent on experience
• Based at: Vittlefields Technology Centre, Forest Road, Newport, Isle of Wight
