Role Overview
We seek a Head of Business Partnering for Adults & Health, responsible for leading financial advice, supporting service delivery, managing risks, and developing financial strategies aligned with the council’s priorities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead financial advice and support to deliver savings and improve service outcomes.
2. Identify financial risks and work with services to mitigate them.
3. Equip directors and stakeholders with necessary financial information and skills.
4. Manage and motivate staff, fostering professional development.
5. Collaborate to enhance financial data analytics and value addition.
6. Develop and monitor service level agreements, KPIs, and ensure quality service delivery.
7. Oversee wider finance functions like account closure and budget development.
8. Provide strategic financial advice to support continuous improvement and long-term planning.
9. Support programmes and projects with financial modelling, business case reviews, and commercial advice.
10. Analyze business objectives and performance to formulate financial strategies.
11. Attend evening meetings as required.
Qualifications
Must hold a CCAB/CIMA accountancy qualification or equivalent, with extensive accounting and budgetary experience, and knowledge of local government finance frameworks including S.151, statutory requirements, and relevant codes of practice.
