This is a challenging and rewarding role that plays a key part in protecting public health, the environment and local communities across Neath Port Talbot. The role offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of specialist environmental protection functions, including air quality, industrial regulation, contaminated land and landfill monitoring.

* Regulating industrial premises under the Environmental Permitting Regulations
* Investigating statutory nuisance and pollution complaints
* Undertaking contaminated land inspections and investigations
* Preparing technical reports, legal documentation and evidence for enforcement action
* Maintaining accurate records, data and monitoring equipment
Although the post does not involve direct line management responsibilities, you will be required to provide specialist technical advice and guidance to other officers and contribute to complex cases, projects and service development activities as directed.

* Current experience of Pollution Control law enforcement, including environmental permitting, air quality or contaminated land
* Strong technical and legal knowledge of Environmental Protection and associated legislation
* Experience of investigating complaints, gathering evidence and taking enforcement action
