Job purpose:
To support the smooth operation of the school catering service by managing the receipt, storage, and rotation of food supplies, while also assisting with kitchen duties such as deliveries, cleaning, and equipment care. The role ensures that catering operations meet required standards of hygiene, safety, and efficiency so that pupils and staff receive safe, nutritious meals.
Key Responsibilities:
· Receive, check, and record deliveries against invoices.
· Rotate stock and maintain accurate stock levels.
· Store goods in accordance with food hygiene and safety standards.
· Maintain clean, secure, and organized storerooms, refrigerators, and freezers.
· Carry out regular stock checks and assist with inventory audits.
· Liaise with suppliers and catering management regarding shortages
· Unload deliveries and store supplies in correct areas.
· Dispose of kitchen waste and operate waste management equipment.
· Report maintenance issues and equipment faults promptly
· Support team during busy service periods, ensuring smooth meal provision.
