Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing strategic technical leadership, shaping engineering direction, governance frameworks, and risk management practices
2. Overseeing the performance, maintenance, and integrity of HVDC systems, including converter stations and cable infrastructure
3. Leading and developing a high-performing engineering function, ensuring effective delivery across operations, projects, and commercial interfaces
4. Driving collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners to optimise asset performance and project outcomes
5. Ensuring compliance with UK and European regulatory standards while embedding a strong health, safety, and quality culture
You will need to have the following experience:
6. Extensive experience within the energy or transmission sector, with deep expertise in HVDC systems and infrastructure
7. Proven leadership of engineering or technical teams within large-scale infrastructure or asset-heavy environments
8. Strong understanding of grid systems, converter technologies, and transmission interface requirements
9. Commercial acumen, including experience managing engineering contracts, suppliers, and technical negotiations
10. Degree-qualified in Electrical or Power Engineering (or equivalent), with Chartered Engineer status advantageous
