Monarch Education is actively recruiting a Social, Emotional and Mental Health Trained Teaching Assistant to support a Specialist School in Peterborough.
This full-time position offers the potential for permanent employment. The school environment is friendly and family-oriented, providing support and guidance. Hours are from 8:00 to 16:00 (depending on the school), Monday to Friday, term-time only.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with special educational needs, either with children or adults. The role begins ASAP or in April 2025 and involves supporting students with SEND, particularly SEMH needs, in a primary school setting. Responsibilities include supporting pupils alongside teachers to improve attainment and social development, maintaining discipline, and encouraging good practice.
Suitable Candidates
* Qualified Teaching Assistants
* Experience in SEN schools
* Background as a probation officer, healthcare, or social support worker
* Graduates in Acting, Music, Performing Arts, Psychology
* Previous SEND support experience
* 3-6 months working with children
* Sports coaches considered
* Available for full-time work
