Overview
HSE Recruitment are working with an established manufacturing company in Peterborough who are looking for a new SHE Manager to lead the safety culture and performance across the site.
If you want to join a business where safety is driven from the top and the culture is one of improvement, not just in safety, but across all departments, then this could be for you. This is the largest site in the group with just shy of 200 people on site.
Your role is to support the site in moving from a dependant to an interdependent safety culture. Reporting into the Plant Manager and sitting on the senior management team, you will provide the direction, support and clarity in relation to health and safety. You will have a dotted line into a Head of HSE and work alongside a wider company EHS team.
You will take ownership for all Safety, Health and Wellbeing activities on site. You will guide and influence Operational Management to maintain high standards, champion innovation, drive continuous improvement and solutions to issues, promote positive culture and safe working practices and deliver the IMS to prove compliance. You will manage the Integrated Management System (IMS) and processes with site management that exist to monitor and control compliance to legislation, internal policies as well as being the lead of both internal and external audits and proactive SHE improvement activities.
Responsibilities
* Take ownership for all Safety, Health and Wellbeing activities on site.
* Guide and influence Operational Management to maintain high standards and promote a positive safety culture.
* Drive continuous improvement and provide solutions to safety-related issues.
* Deliver and manage the Integrated Management System (IMS) to ensure compliance with legislation and internal policies.
* Lead internal and external audits and drive proactive SHE improvement activities.
Qualifications & Skills
* A strong HSE Manager or Senior HSE Advisor who brings technical skills and soft skills.
* NEBOSH Certificate level qualification or higher as a minimum.
* Background in manufacturing, engineering or factory-focused environments.
* People-focused with the ability to engage, educate and influence behavior (the why) to change habits.
* Assertive and accountable, able to challenge when needed and lead a step change in ownership mindset.
