SGS is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Trainee to join our dynamic team in Shepton Mallet. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to launch or grow their career in a fast-paced, B2B environment with a globally respected brand.
* Lead Generation & Prospecting – Call and email potential clients, uncover new opportunities, and promote SGS solutions
* Market Intelligence – Monitor industry trends and competitors to support business strategy
* Customer Support – Handle inbound enquiries via phone, email, Teams, and chatbot
* Sales Support – Prepare quotes, proposals, and coordinate meetings for the sales team
* CRM Management – Maintain accurate client records
* Client Development – Re-engage lapsed accounts and grow existing relationships
* Admin Support – Assist with onboarding, documentation, and invoice/payment queries
Qualifications
Essential Skills & Experience
* Confident cold caller and natural lead generator
* Strong commercial awareness and customer service mindset
* Previous experience in a phone-based, B2B technical environment
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
* Self-motivated, well-organised, and able to manage multiple priorities
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
Desirable
* Background in customs, logistics, or related technical services
* Experience working with measurable performance targets
* Qualification in customer service or sales administration
