Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a highly organised, tenacious and compassionate individual to join our Disability Inclusion Service team.
As a Non-Medical Helper Coordinator, you will be integral in developing a new service and responsible for coordinating non-medical helper (NMH) services for disabled students.You will ensure that in-house support workers are effectively trained, scheduled, and equipped to provide the highest level of support.
As a new role, you will oversee the establishment of a NMH service, alongside our established third party supplied provision. You will be enthusiastic and be confident to work independently. Having a customer service focused approach, you will bring a positive and motivated energy to our team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and mentor a new team of support staff who work with our disabled students. Support the manager of the service to developan internal non-medical helper service.
Coordinate non-medical support services for disabled students, including but not limited to notetaking, study skills coaching, mentoring, and assistive technology training provision.
Conduct thorough assessments of students' needs and disabilities, collaborating with relevant professionals such as disability advisers and teaching teams.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with external non-medical helper providers, ensuring the timely provision of support services and adherence to quality standards.
Provide training and guidance to non-medical helpers and staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to support students effectively.
